The Summer hotel of the Household school is run in a school building that was built in 1929. In 1930 the school began to operate and was it specialized in teaching women regular household jobs like cooking and sawing. From the beginning it has been run a summer hotel during summer time along with the school. The house offers the atmosphere of the old times and romance.

The school has fostered many good house wifes from all over Iceland and is now as popular as before.  Along with the traditional household classes it now offers classes in arts like drawing and crafting.
